Architectural Excellence
This building is the main dinning facility of Arcadium Mining camp in Salar of the Dead Man, Catamarca al 4200 mamsl. The building has 10,325.00 sq feet and it´s prepared to serve 500 people per dining shift and the kitchen facility is prepared to serve 4 meals daily for 1,200 people. The building was designed with a central corridor higher than the rest of the modules with 2 lines of windows on the top to provide natural ventilation and daylight. The building has 3 different areas: Restrooms area: with male a female facilities, (485 sqf) the dining area itself, with tables, Chairs (500) and the self service area (6930 sqf), and the kitchen (3880) sqf . All the kitchen and the equipment were mounted off site, in our factory and then was sent to the site. The whole building is composed by 10 modules of 46 ft length x 10,5 ft w and 11 ft high and 16 modules of 43 ft x 10,5x 11 , which were all transport from our manufacture facility to the site ( nearly 2800 kilometers away).
Technical Innovation & Sustainability
All the modules were built with a concrete floor with 4¨ft of polystyrene foam sheet insulation and all the walls and roof were insulated with 3ft of fiberglass sheet and we added fiberglass insulation and thermo acoustic ceiling panels, To minimize air conditioning and heating equipment requirements. The building was finished with cement board painted in different colors and the windows carpentry was done with WPC profiles and armored glass.
The building was settled on 154 prefab concrete foundations (20”x20”x20”), which were prepared off site in our factor
The whole process was done by RUCAPANEL (design- engineering- construction- transportation- on site assembly – pre and commissioning), and in was solve in 100 days form the purchase confirmation to the dinning and kitchen building inauguration.
Cost Effectiveness
The construction schedule was reduced by as much as 80% against other building systems, saving significant costs in labor, mobilization and demobilization. It’s a fact that Working in la Puna At 4300 masml, reduce the effectiveness of the work force nearly 50%, so modular solutions represents a great workforce and logistic of raw materials cost reduction.
