MBI has retained the government affairs firm of Capitol Advisors to assist and advise us on pending prevailing wage legislation this session. AB 219 – Prevailing Wage for concrete delivery, recently passed out of the Assembly Labor Committee, despite the compelling arguments of the opposition. This seems to be the “camel’s nose under the tent” for increasing PW requirements for offsite work. Join MBI lobbyist Susan Stuart of Capitol Advisors as she discusses this bill and other relevant legislation. In a recent survey conducted by NIBS' Offsite Construction Council, 93% of respondents in the architect, engineer, contractor, owner field indicated that they had implemented some form of offsite construction in the past twelve months, including: precast concrete, wall panels, MEP systems, bathroom pods, and permanent modular building construction.
