Architectural Excellence
With careful attention to creating a harmonious whole, each construction zone was given a slightly different approach. We used combinations of colours for the stone strips that blend well with the existing houses in the neighbourhood. This gives every home its own identity and makes them recognisable for the residents. Our goal is a subtle integration without losing Skilpod’s characteristic look.
The modular Skilpod system is based on standard heights and dimensions, with a clear ceiling height of 2.60 metres. The high ceilings, together with our signature floor-to-ceiling windows and doors, provide plenty of natural light and a spacious atmosphere.
For this location, we proposed two types of homes with a gross floor area of around 110 m². These homes are perfectly suited for families of three to four people.
The plans were drawn up in line with the guidelines of the Flemish Social Housing Association.
Technical Innovation & Sustainability
Sustainability, in every aspect, is a natural starting point for Skilpod in the development and construction of its single-family homes and apartments. This begins with the design and is reflected in the construction method, the chosen energy systems and the materials used.
Because everything is centrally and off-site produced, the number of transports is kept to a minimum. As a result, less CO₂ is emitted even before construction actually starts.
With more than 10 years of experience, Skilpod has continuously refined and technically perfected each of its housing products. This means that both the materials used and the efficiency in use are fully optimized. Only what is necessary is processed, keeping construction waste to an absolute minimum.
Material choices are thoughtful and deliberate. Here, both durability in lifespan and the potential for reuse play a role, as well as the share of bio-based materials and the possibility of disassembly and recycling.
Cost Effectiveness
Skilpod applies a product-based approach that ensures higher quality at a better price. Instead of the failure costs of one-off projects, advanced engineering and repetition lead to optimization and efficiency. We apply the same high quality across all markets: private, B2B and B2G. A core of our sustainability concept is simple: what is not needed, is not added.
Through prototyping and precise engineering, we use only the materials strictly required, keeping both ecological footprint and cost to a minimum. Together with architects, we design compact and functional homes: only the spaces that truly matter are built, with technical rooms deliberately kept small yet efficient.
Finally, our modular, industrialized construction method allows record-fast delivery. Short lead times and the exclusion of external delays result in quicker occupancy and significant cost savings.
