New Edge Contractors Names Jim Elliott to Lead Commissioning and Start-Up
Appointment strengthens system readiness and owner turnover support for data center, mission-critical, and life science projects.
New Edge Contractors has named Jim Elliott Vice President of Commissioning. Elliott, who began his 41-year field career in a UA Local 322 apprenticeship, leads the company’s commissioning and start-up team, which helps owners move complex facilities from construction into operation.
Commissioning starts at concept, where issues are resolved on paper before they reach the field. At New Edge, it sits within Resource Management and the EdgeReady™ System, further integrating the supply chain to improve flow efficiency for clients. The team stays field-connected from the start of execution through turnover. As with every EdgeReady™ resource, commissioning adapts to any project need that arises.

Elliott worked as a tradesman and supervisor on more than two dozen power-industry turbines through installation and start-up. He has spent more than 20 years supervising and managing pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and semiconductor projects, and his career spans projects totaling more than $2 billion.
“The questions have to be answered before a system is ready to test: Is the installation complete and installed per the project specifications, code, and manufacturers’ requirements? Are the right people in place? Is the procedure approved?” said Elliott. “We work through those details with the project team, then document the results and resolve findings so the owner can make an informed acceptance decision.”
Elliott joins the leadership team New Edge expanded this summer under Chief Executive Officer Mike Clay, Chief Development Officer John Wiegand, and President Terry Edmondson.
