Architectural Excellence
The Modular Biocontainment Complex (MBC) is designed to contain patients infected with infectious diseases such as COVID-19 and Ebola. MBC consists of 8 ISO 1C (20 ft.) containerized units that coupled give a cross shape (18x15m) to the entire complex. In particular the module is made of 4 isolation rooms, each one equipped with a bathroom and a technical room, medical office, separated entrance for patient and medical staff. The containment complex has been assembled to prevent any kind of external environmental contamination and has been certified with BLS-3 biosecurity level. "R.I. Spa" Medical Department has designed MBC to allow entrances and paths for infected patients and medical staff guaranteeing a high level of sanitation and safety. The Modular Bio-containment is also designed to operate either stand-alone or being interconnected to other Mobile Field Hospital for Medical Treatment Facilities. MBC can be modified or enhanced according to the customer requests.
Technical Innovation & Sustainability
The Modular Biocontainment Complex is characterized by a sealed isolation system capable to protect healthcare personnel, and the surrounding community and to isolate people as soon as the contagious disease is suspected and before it entails a risk of infectious disease within a community, or an entire field hospital. The MBC has a modular and flexible layout suitable for isolating simultaneously a minimum of two up to four patients. It is suitable to be placed on any terrain due to a special self-levelling system. Ceilings, floors and walls are designed permitting internal areas functional in all external environmental conditions: -20 ⁰C to +45 ⁰C. Installed HVAC system is in compliance with standards for clinical applications: Isolation Rooms maintain negative pressures and never less than 15 Pa compared to anti-chambers. The MBC is equipped with special control systems of: pressures, air flows, warning alarms, interlocked doors and video monitoring in all areas.

MBC is crucial to bio-risk management in shot time and avoiding further exposure of infectious microorganisms to the greater population. Machines and motor of the plants are designed for energy saving purpose and guaranteeing comfort. Furthermore, this investment can be quickly installed and uninstalled as the position and situation change because it can be transported all over the world as the size of the containers (20 '1C) are compatible with ships, trains and airplanes.
