World’s Largest Hotel Group Promotes Modular as Sustainable Solution
Modular Buildings Reduce On-Site Construction
The Intercontinental Hotel Group (IHG) recently launched its Innovation Hotel, showcasing ideas in sustainable tourism including the use of modular construction methods to reduce waste. The Innovation Hotel is an online example of what future hotels might look like if they use green technologies. It also highlights how IHG hotels are already implementing sustainable ideas. According to IHG, "Because they are factory-constructed, consistent delivery of green building options is built in and can include use of environmentally friendly building products and energy-saving technologies. Modular buildings can also reduce material waste."
